Here's to faith

It is hard to put into words what this little face does to my heart.
Sometimes I think it might burst.
They say that faith can never be present with fear.
I believe it.
God sort of answers my prayers that way.

Dating scared me.
And then when the time was right, it didn't.

College scared me.
And then when the time was right, it didn't.

Marriage scared the heck out of me.
And then when the time was right, it didn't.

Parenthood scared me.
And then when the time was right, it didn't.

I thought getting my braces off was the best day of my life.
I was wrong.
And what a wonderful thought it is to think that
some of the best days of our lives haven't even happened yet.

Here's to faith.

Norah :: Nine Months

Norah in a Nutshell :: 9 Months

-She is a little dare devil. She stands up against the coffee table, looks over to the couch to see if she can make it, takes a deep breath, holds said breath, and launches her body hoping to grasp the leather cushion. And she 9 times out of 10 makes it.
-Norz loves gold fish crackers, cheerios and fruit. All fruit.
-She plays peek-a-boo with a blanket. We could play that for hours and neither of us get bored.
-Speaking of blankets, she loves forts! Good thing her dad is secretly a professional fort architect and builder ;)
-Norah waves hello and goodbye by flopping her chubby hand up and down with the biggest grin on her face.
-When she actually realizes that saying goodbye means someone is actually leaving, she starts to whimper, no matter who it is. She hates goodbyes.
-She has a favorite TV show, Special Agent Oso. Too bad there is only one season on netflix. Broc and I have almost every one memorized.
-I can see those little chompers on top breaking through. She will be so happy when she can put those babies to use. She wants to eat everything!
-OBSESSED with dogs.
-And water, (splashing in, swimming in, bathing in, or just drinking)
-Her record is 3.5 steps. Usually she gets so excited when she starts that it turns more into a run.

It is hard to believe that she has officially been out as long as she was in.
Pregnancy seems like it was all a dream now. Feels like this little angel has been with us forever.
Happy 9 months Norah!

Washington County Fair

The fair is in town.
Norah loved the lights.
She loved the kids.
She loved all of the excitement.
We even entered her into the cute baby contest.
She was #74 in her age category.
And the baby next to her had a headband bow the size of texas.
Norah was too distracted and determined to rip it off her head to focus and smile at the judges.
To say the lease, she didn't win.
She doesn't need a trophy to tell her that she is the cutest girl in the world.
We tell her that every day.
And will for the rest of her life.

Carlsbad 2013

My aunt and uncle, Lori and Keith have a condo on the beach in Carlsbad CA that they live in during the summers. It is always a treat when we get to go stay with them for a few days every year.
Unfortunately, Broc had to work and wasn't able to come along but Norah and I joined my family and made a quick trip down for the weekend.

And I am thinking about entering Norah in a swim suit competition.
I mean look at those gorgeous thighs.
Mmmm.

The beach made this one smile.

And I am pretty sure the beach smiled looking at her.

And yes, that is my 79 year old grandpa riding a bike like Armstrong.
He's got awesome pumping through his veins.

lucky for us, there was a pro surf competition going on while we were there.

While we were there, my parent's celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.
Sure glad they are still "going steady".
Love them.
